Hej!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romans_in_Caucasian_Albania“Indeed in Azerbaijan, an inscription has been found which reads: IMP DOMITIANO CAESARE AVG GERMANICO LVCIVS IVLIVS MAXIMVS LEGIONIS XII FVL, Under imperator Domitian, Caesar, Augustus Germanicus, Lucius Julius Maximus, Legio XII Fulminata.”
http://www.zerbaijan.com/albania/caucasian-albania.html“Gels, Legs, Kryzes, Hinalugs, Alpans and Udins -- live in Azerbaijan. But only the latter have kept their original religion and language.”
http://www.ethnologue.com/show_country.asp?name=AZUdi
[udi] 4,200 in Azerbaijan (1995). Population total all countries: 8,440. Oghuz town, Qabala, Nic, and Mirzabeyli villages. Also in Georgia, Russian Federation (Asia), Turkmenistan. Alternate names: Udin, Uti. Dialects: Oghuz (Vartashen), Nidzh (Nij, Nic, Nizh), Oktomberi. Oktomberi dialect is more different from Nic Udi than Oghuz Udi is. One of the most divergent Lezgian (Lezgic) languages. Classification: North Caucasian, East Caucasian, Lezgic, Udi
Thor H har tydligen fått norska staten att sponsra kulturen hos Udins;
http://atlas.musigi-dunya.az/en/et_udin_01.html“With support of the Norwegian government George Kechaari wrote books narrating about folk customs and ceremonies of the Udins, which they have kept up to now.”
“For example, as usually, day and night unquenchable fire burned in the hearth of the house that evidences about survival of zoroastrizm.”
http://www.azer.com/aiweb/categories/magazine/ai102_folder/102_articles/102_heyerdahl_aleksidze.html“Heyerdahl was convinced that the Scandinavian god Odin was actually a historical figure who had originated from the Caucasus and then migrated with large numbers of his people to Scandinavia. Heyerdahl's search for the traces of Odin had taken him to Azerbaijan to find out more about the Udis, a small Christian minority living there.”
“My work of deciphering the lower layer of the Georgian-Albanian palimpsest continued until the beginning of 2001. Unfortunately, I never had another chance to see Heyerdahl, and I'm not sure if he heard about the preliminary results of my work. My upcoming book, which documents the results of deciphering the Albanian manuscript, will be dedicated to Dr. Thor Heyerdahl's sacred memory.”
