The prospection data on which
this excavation is based can be seen in the
geophysical survey report on pages 28 and 29. As well figure 38 on page 54 shows the central grave quite well. However, we have been a bit sceptical in the interpretation of the data since the anomalies of both the outer ring and the central grave are only weakly expressed.
This circular anomaly actually has been discovered by an archaeology professor from Kalmar University who during the presentation of the prospection results at a seminar in Lund sat in the back row and suddenly asked what this large circular structure was. We had not noticed it before since it is rather large, only weakly expressed and best to see at greater distance.
The discoverer had asked for this structure to be called "Goldhahns högen", which is fair enough I think.
